Open the reference platesA complete route for every modeled cell.
Choose a region, then use Inspect cell or Inspect ending to move from anatomy to cellular detail. Scroll back out to see where that same cell belongs. Next stop follows the selected route through its relay cells.
V4 integrates V3’s detailed cell models and the source anatomy, with the cortical display restricted to the left precentral and postcentral gyri into one millimeter coordinate system. Original membrane meshes load near the camera; distant cells retain their paths and identities. Detail budgets limit the number of visible objects, preserving the source geometry of each inspected model. Axons are lit cylindrical meshes at every viewing distance. A display-only radius floor keeps overview fibers readable; physical radii remain in the export. Use Cell support membranes to show or hide whole support structures around an ending; the cortex has its own paired coronal cross-section inspection mode. The scale bar measures the view plane through the camera target.
This is a representative, constructed circuit, not a complete biological census or an experimentally traced human connectome. Each synaptic relay is a different neuron. Sensory cells have a dorsal-root-ganglion soma; motor output bypasses that ganglion. Free-ending pathways cross in the spinal cord; touch and motor pathways cross separately in the medulla.
Histology and electron microscopy in the supplied comparison packet guide cell shapes, support cells, and endings. Those images span different species and tissues; they do not supply matched end-to-end reconstructions. V3’s measured human light-microscopy cortical traces remain available at their original scale. Their placement in S1/M1 and connection to these pathways is modeled. Selecting M1 + S1 coronal cortex opens both sections together. The paired cortical view adds six curved layers, a gray–white boundary and connected layer-VI projection examples. Twelve proofread H01 reference neurite trees (two from each layer) are reused in both gyri at their physical scale. H01 is temporal cortex; region placement and new long-range connections remain modeled. Layer V provides motor output, while the layer-VI examples continue toward thalamus. No electrical activity or biomechanical response is simulated.
Source anatomy: BodyParts3D / Anatomography, Database Center for Life Science, CC BY-SA 2.1 Japan; light overview surfaces with original V3 mesh detail loaded nearby. See the V4 source record and 50 comparison plates, plus the cortex source record. Plate model panels show V3 and are retained as the development baseline.
